At Ketty shopping centre, there works a tailor called Zede. He is such a skilled tailor that he designs and sews men’s and ladies’ clothes in all fashions. Sometimes, he sews wedding and graduation gowns which are highly on demand due to their attractive designs. All his garments are purchased at affordable prices despite their nice looking, His eldest daughter Dariyah is a designer. She knits school sweaters and weaves nice table clothes as well as carpets. She has a big stall in the African Village at Mikocheni in Dar es Salaam.
Dariyah also carves beautiful sculptures. Her sculptures are mostly bought by foreigners from China and France because they are decorated with attractive designs. Zede and his daughter earn a lot of money daily from their local and foreign customers. This has enabled them to expand their business and train their siblings as well. In addition, Zede and Dariyah usually exhibit their products at the Sabasaba exhibition ground in Temeke. This has not only helped them advertise their products but also widen their market.
