ACSEE FORM SIX NECTA CHEMISTRY EXAMINATION FORMAT 2026

1.0 EXAMINATION RUBRIC

The examination will consist of three papers:

  • Paper 1 (132/1 Chemistry 1)
  • Paper 2 (132/2 Chemistry 2)
  • Paper 3 (132/3 Chemistry 3)

4.1 132/1 CHEMISTRY 1

Duration: 3 hours (plus 10 minutes per hour for candidates with special needs)

Structure: Sections A and B with a total of ten (10) questions

Requirements: Candidates must answer nine (9) questions

Total Marks: 100 marks

Section A

  • Seven (7) short-answer questions
  • Each question carries 10 marks
  • Candidates must answer ALL questions
  • Total weight: 70 marks

Section B

  • Three (3) structured questions
  • Candidates must answer TWO (2) questions comprehensively
  • Each question carries 15 marks
  • Total weight: 30 marks

4.2 132/2 CHEMISTRY 2

Duration: 3 hours (plus 10 minutes per hour for candidates with special needs)

Structure: Six (6) questions requiring comprehensive answers

Requirements: Candidates must answer five (5) questions

Marks per question: 20 marks each

Total Marks: 100 marks

4.3 132/3 CHEMISTRY 3

Type: Practical examination

Alternative Papers: Three equivalent papers will be set:

  • 132/3A Chemistry 3A
  • 132/3B Chemistry 3B
  • 132/3C Chemistry 3C

Requirements: Candidates must sit ONE of the alternative papers

Duration: 3 hours and 20 minutes (plus 10 minutes per hour for candidates with special needs)

Structure: Three (3) questions

Requirements: Candidates must answer ALL questions

Marks Distribution:

  • Question 1: 20 marks
  • Question 2: 15 marks
  • Question 3: 15 marks
